Mike Terry has been an English and Communications Professor at John Wood Community College since 1987 and has been Head Boys and Girls tennis coach at Quincy High School since 1980. He was born and raised in Quincy and graduated from Quincy High School and earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Truman State University. He and his wife Jan have been married since 1980 and they have three children and eight grandchildren. Jan owns and operates her own insurance agency, Fauble Insurance.
Their relationship with St. John’s began through their youngest son Jacob’s friendship with Fr. Patrick and Catherine's son Jacob and later their mutual participation in Operation Serve.
Mike is a regular reader during the Sunday 10:30 service and joined the church in 2019 and the vestry in 2024. He loves the welcoming environment at St. John's, as well as the positive messages in Fr. Patrick’s sermons. He also love the traditions of the church.
Fun fact: Mike is the son of long time Quincy weatherman and KHQA news director and radio broadcaster Gene Terry. Mike grew up watching his dad deliver the news and weather for most of the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s from the 10th floor of Quincy’s WCU building. Mike read the Christmas Eve forecast for his dad from age 5 until he was 10.
